HALFWAY HOME

The MRICRH incorporates a halfway home, which is a safe shelter for trafficking victims and children in difficult circumstances.

The persons receiving assistance at the halfway home can stay temporarily at the safe shelter, for shorter and longer time, until it is regarded as safe for them to return home. Furthermore, trafficking victims need a safe place to live while their cases are being investigated and preparations are being made for their repatriation. The shelter is a safe place for victims and they receive necessary treatment; counseling, medical treatment, support and rehabilitation. The halfway home is under supervision of one or member staff members at all times. The staff members continually assist and counsel the victims at the safe shelter and help them with language and communication problems.

The halfway home runs activities to empower and help victims recover from their past experiences and difficult life situations. Training projects such as weaving, sewing, cooking, crop growing, Thai and English language training and arts. The projects are planned to make the vicimts enjoy their stay at the same time as keeping in mind that they need to attend school or find work upon re- integration in their communities.

We offer a range of activities as a part of our support services.
