24 Hour Hotline for Children in Difficult Circumstances

In order to adequately meet the needs of children,
a 24 -hour hotline is maintained by the MRICRH. The hotline number has been publicized in local communities. A means of spreading information about the hotline is through child rights camps.

At these camps, children learn about the risks involved with trafficking as well as other problems occurring in the areas they live. The youth are then encouraged to pass on the hotline number as well as the information they have learned at the camp with their home communities.

The number has also been shared with key community leaders such as doctors and nurses in local hospitals, village leaders and teachers.

Anyone with information on a child in distress is urged to contact trained staff at the MRICRH by means of the hotline. The hotline allows the MRICRH to reach farther into local communities and work on behalf of child protection and rights. The hotline is modeled after the successful Childline operating in India that takes one million cases a year.

We offer a range of activities as a part of our support services.
