ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY

We ask you to respect our rules of confidentiality and sensitivity.

The children and women who receive support at the MRICRH are already subject to discrimination and prejudice by society and policies. The safe shelter at the MRICRH ensures protection for vulnerable victims of abuse and trafficking.

Trafficking involves illegal activities, which often include:

  • The sale and exchange of human beings as a commodity
  • Cross- border networks
  • Debt- bondage to the traffickers

Due to these factors it is necessary to keep the trafficking victimís identity confidential.

At the MRICRH we are committed to strict rules of confidentiality. Visitors, researchers, volunteers and media must respect the sensitive nature of the childrenís life situations and respect the confidentiality issues concerned at the MRICRH. In addition to this, these confidentiality rules must be followed:

  • No questions or comments about their experience of abuse and trafficking.
  • No photos or filming of the children or staff.
  • The real names of the children, women and staff members remains confidential.
  • The background and ethnic origin of the children and women shall be protected. Revealing the ethnicity of these children and women can enforce existing strong societal prejudice beliefs against hill tribes and various ethnic groups.

All the information at MRICRH is confidential. However we support relevant research and we acknowledge the importance of media in advocating for childrenís rights.
